Charlotte Stone
Title: Journals Administrator
Employer: Wiley-Blackwell
Course: Publishing
When I was studying, I worked part-time in Blackwell’s bookshop. After graduating I went full-time in the shop, before moving into this office role.
On a day to day basis I use organisational, multi-tasking and IT skills, as well as working to deadline. A large part of the assessment on my course was oral presentation, which I found invaluable in building my confidence.
I’d advise you to take responsibility for your own learning, as no one’s going to do it for you – and you can’ t turn back the clocks once you’ve graduated.
When you start going for interviews, go interview clothes shopping so that you feel confident and smart. And use the Careers and Employment Centre – I found their advice fantastic!
