Oxfordshire Mental Health Matters was set up in 1993 as part of the introduction of Community Care.  We are a small county-wide organisation that places a strong emphasis on respecting the wishes of people labelled as 'mentally ill'.  We value our local links, and work hard against disadvantage and discrimination.  For more information visit www.oxford-mentalhealth.org.


The Gemini Project in Oxford is a community resource and support service for people living with severe and enduring mental illness.  Members are assigned a key worker wo is able to work with them through the recovery process by meeting with them on a regular basis to identify their individual needs and desires in order to formulate an agreed action plan that they can be supported with in working to.  All volunteers are required to attend our six week foundation training to equip them with the essential skills and knowledge required for them to volunteer sucessfully in supporting people and gain the most benefits from their placement.  For more information visit www.rethink.org.

   Leonard Cheshire Disability exists to change attitudes to disability and to serve disabled people around the world.  Our principle activity in the UK is the provision of services in support of disabled people in the widest context.  These services include care homes, support living, domiciliary support, day services, resource centres, rehabilitation, respite care, personal support and training and assistance for those looking for work.  We operate in all parts of the UK and are the largest voluntary sector provider of care and support services for disables people.  For more information visit www.lcddisability.org.


 

  Headway Oxford is a Registered Charity offering support and understanding to people affected by brain injury accross the county.  We work with individuals and families of people who have had traumatic injuries due to accidents or assaults, and with people with acquired brain injuries through events such as brain haemorrhages, tumours, or infections.  We provide a range of services both in the community and in our day centre, which compliment the formal rehabilitation provided by health professionals.  For more information visit www.headwayoxford.org.uk.


   EPP provide self-management courses for people living with any long-term heath condition(s), through the NHS and other organisations interested in running self-management courses.  We were created to enable people to have greater access to free courses, designed to support them in improving the day to day management of their condition.  We are the market leader in developing specific, innovative new programmes and tailoring existing courses, responding to the challenging needs of participants and to changes in the purchasing models of key customers.  For more information visit www.expertpatients.co.uk.

   Oxford Sexual Abuse and Rape Crisis Centre is a group of women committed to supporting survivors of sexual abuse, rape, domestic abuse and harassment.  We offer a free and confidential service to women and girls who are dealing with the effects of sexual violence.  OSARCC will be recruiting new Listening Service Volunteers soon.  Please chech our website for volunteering opportunities and more information.  If you are interested in supporting female survivors of sexual violence, developing listening skills and being part of a diverse range of women, please write to: osarcc.recruitment@gmail.com.
