Lucy Faithfull House
is a 61 bed hostel for homeless men and women in Oxford City Centre. The service is an important part of a city-wide pathway out of homelessness, seeking to enable swift and sustainable resettlement for those in need. We are looking for volunteers to complement our learning and activity programmes. We need versatile people to facilitate a range of sessions which might include: visual arts; creative writing; photography; multi-media; IT training; music; and reading groups. But we are always open to suggestions for innovative sessions. Sessions can be open ended, but others may be short courses of 6 to 10 weekly sessions. This is a great opportunity to gain work experience in a social care environment. For more information please contact John Bennett at Lucy Faithfull House on 01865 243071, or email john.bennett@twosaints.org.uk.

We also depend on thousands of specially trained volunteers to deliver our services to victims and witnesses. For more information visit www.victimsupport.org.uk.
The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life. We empower blind and partially-sighted people to do that and we rely on the support of the public to fund our services. We need volunteers for our fundraising branches in Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire and have a variety of roles depending on how much time you have to give. For more information visit www.guidedogs.org.uk.
The Royal British Legion is a UK charity that provides financial, social and emotional support to millions who have served and are currently serving in the Armed Forces, and their dependants. We are probably best known for our role as the nation's custodian of Remembrance and the Poppy Appeal which we organise annually. For more information on our volunteering opportunities click here.

AgeAid is an Oxford Hub Community Volunteers (OHVC) project. We work with elderly people at a day care centre in Cowley. At the centre, we offer a variety of courses such as IT, cooking and baking, gardening and memory improvement or we just sit down and have a chat and listen to stories about Oxford's past. Everyone can volunteer, and there'll always be other volunteers and the centre's staff to help out if you're unsure what to do. All it takes to volunteer is a few hours of time and a desire to help others. For more information email ageaid@oxfordhub.org.

ACCAN (African Caribbean Community Action Network) strategey is based around health, education, information, outreach and training for the BME community. We have run a series of events for our members and the wider community to network and realise their potential.
