Brookes Future Leaders Programme

University isn’t just about lectures, essays and seminars. It’s also about taking part in a variety of activities – from student societies to volunteering and work experience. Through these you can learn practical management and leadership skills that can really improve your career prospects.

We want to enable students to reflect on the skills and experiences they have gained from their extra curricular activities and think about how they can be applied in a future career.

That’s why we are running the Brookes Future Leaders programmes. Endorsed by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) – it is designed to help participants consolidate their achievements and further develop valuable skills that will impress their future employers.

During the two day event students take part in team exercises, personality profiling and explore some theories and concepts of team building and leadership. By successfully completing the programme they gain a one year membership of the Institute of Leadership & Management, and an endorsed certificate

Students take an active part in the exercises and are observed and assessed using methods similar to graduate employer assessment centres.

Students complete written work at the end of each day which is assessed alongside their observed activity.
